Kodiaks Sign Two Players
Posted February 19th, 2018 @ 12:00 am

The Camrose Kodiaks are excited to announce two players signing Letter of Intents with the team for the 2018-19 season. The Kodiaks signed Calgary native Cam McAdam from the Calgary Northstars Midget AAA team and Adam Kolcon from the Detroit Victory Honda Tier 1 Midget team.

With McAdam, the Kodiaks are getting an offensive forward who has put up 21 goals and 17 assists in 33 games played this season. Those numbers have him currently third in goals in the Alberta Midget AAA Hockey League among league leaders. “Cam has a lot of offensive upside to him, he sees the ice very well and likes to play under pressure. His hockey IQ and ability to read plays puts him in the right spot to put up those kind of numbers,” explained Kodiaks Associate Coach Nigel Dube. McAdam has been with the North Stars for two seasons and is their team captain, “his leadership on and off the ice is everything we look for in a player coming into our organization. He does things the right way and is driven for success daily.”

In Kolcon, a Pittsford, New York product the Kodiaks are getting a mobile defenseman who has put up 7 goals and 11 assists in 28 games. He is the Assistant Captain for Victory Honda who play in the Tier 1 Elite League in the USA. “Adam is a player I’ve had my eye on for two seasons now, he plays for Coach Burke who does a great job preparing players for junior hockey. He has the ability to see the ice and can slow the game down when he needs to. He brings a strong physical presence to the game and is a true leader on his team. His character, leadership, and work ethic are what we expect from players putting on the Kodiak crest,” said Dube.

“We would like to welcome the families of Cam and Adam to the Kodiaks organization. These gentlemen have work to do on their respective team’s playoffs and we wish them the best of luck. We know we are getting character people who will put in the work once their season is over to come in at the top of their game,” mentioned Head Coach and General Manager Boris Rybalka.
